The Christian Education Board follows the guidelines outlined in the Faith and Practice. The first objective is to provide supervision on behalf of the children, youth, and adults in the areas of Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth Groups, and Camp Quaker Haven. The board is to provide teachers for classes and to give ongoing education and support to these teachers. The church library is a very important way that Christian growth is nurtured, as well as providing and maintaining other resources for the classrooms. Friends Colleges and Universities are promoted yearly, and as well, a GEFC Scholarship for Higher Education is available to members.
The Glen Elder Friends Church provides Sunday School classes for a wide variety of ages:
Our church takes part in community Vacation Bible School which has been very successful and is an outreach to approximately 80 children, plus many youth helpers, and families in the community. Fund raisers are held annually to offer assistance to youth of all ages to attend Camp Quaker Haven. Christmas is a special celebration each year for the young and old at Glen Elder Friends Church. A tradition has been established of performing a live nativity program every other year. This began in the l990's and continues on. It has proven to be a favorite memory of all of the church children and many parents and adults. In 2006 we have chosen to build on this nativity and provide a true-to-life Bethlehem Village, where people can come and learn about Bible times, experience life as it was the week of Jesus' birth, and make wonderful memories with their families as one of the 12 Tribes of Israel.
To round out our education program, we also have two other favorites:
